About EverythingAI

I built this because I was frustrated. Every AI tool directory I found was either a wall of 10,000 unvetted tools with zero curation, or a thin list shaped by whoever paid for placement. Neither answered the actual question: given what I want to do, which AI tools should I actually use?

So I built theaimap.app — an interactive visual map where AI tool categories fan out as branches from a central node. You type what you want to do ("make a video", "write content", "automate my workflow") and every relevant tool across all categories lights up simultaneously.

It is a single HTML file. No backend. No login. No tracking beyond GA4. Everything runs in your browser.

How tools are selected

Every tool on the map is hand-reviewed before it is added. The selection criteria:

Active and maintained. If the tool has not shipped an update in 6 months or has credible reports of shutting down, it is not on the map.

Real users. The tool needs to have a meaningful user base — not just a product hunt launch with no follow-through. Tools with fewer than ~10K users are rarely added unless they fill a genuine gap in a category.

Honest pricing. If the free tier is a bait-and-switch, the pricing label reflects that. I would rather a tool know upfront what it costs than have a user feel misled after clicking through.

No paid placements. Companies cannot pay to appear on the map, to be ranked higher, or to be featured in the Top 3 results. The only commercial relationship is affiliate links — and those are disclosed.

On affiliate links: Some links on the map are affiliate links. If you click through and sign up, I may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This never affects which tools I recommend or where they appear. I add affiliate links only after a tool is already on the map for editorial reasons, not the other way around.

What I am building toward

The long-term vision is an AI Workflow Intelligence Engine — not a directory. The difference: a directory answers "what tools exist?" A workflow engine answers "given your goal, budget, skill level, and constraints, what is the optimal AI execution path?"

The Workflow Configurator (accessible from any task search) is the first version of this. You pick tools step by step, the cost and time updates live, and you get a shareable stack at the end. It is early but it works.

Eventually: personalised recommendations, outcome data (which workflow combinations succeed most for which user types), and — at the right scale — an execution layer where the Configurator can run workflow steps automatically.

None of that requires a login. The goal is to be the most useful free resource for navigating the AI tool landscape — and to make money through affiliate commissions and, at scale, category sponsorships from tools that earn their position first.
