This Privacy Policy explains how The AI Map ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Ankur Nawalakha and accessible at theaimap.app, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Analytics data — We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This includes pages visited, time on site, browser type, and general location (country/city level). GA4 may set cookies on your device.
Email address — If you subscribe to updates, your email address is collected and stored in a private Google Sheet operated by us. This is voluntary.
No account data — The AI Map requires no login. We do not collect names, passwords, or personal profile information.

2. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

Google Analytics cookies — Set by GA4 to track anonymous usage statistics. These persist for up to 2 years.
Cookie consent cookie — A first-party cookie to remember whether you have accepted or declined cookies. Expires after 365 days.

3. Affiliate Links

Some links on The AI Map are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are disclosed throughout the site. We do not share your personal data with affiliate partners — click tracking is handled by the affiliate networks (e.g. Impact, ShareASale) and is subject to their respective privacy policies.

6. Your Rights Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India — DPDP Act)

If you are an Indian resident, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 grants you the following rights as a Data Principal:

Right to access — You may request a summary of personal data we process and the processing activities undertaken.
Right to correction and erasure — You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data, or erasure of personal data that is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Right to grievance redressal — You may raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (details below). We will respond within 30 days of receipt.
Right to nominate — You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

Parental / Guardian Consent: We do not knowingly process personal data of individuals under 18 years of age without verifiable parental or guardian consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data to us, please contact us immediately.

Data Breach Notification: In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to cause harm to Data Principals, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

7. Grievance Officer (India — DPDP Act)

8. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months by default. Email subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. We do not store any other personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

The AI Map is not directed at children under 18 (or under 13 outside India). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors without verifiable parental or guardian consent. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, please contact ankur@theaimap.app and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
